The 1993 American stop-motion animated musical dark fantasy movie The Nightmare Before Christmas was written, directed, and produced by Tim Burton. Henry Selick served as the director (in his feature directorial debut). The Nightmare Before Christmas Movie Storyline
Halloween Town is a fantastical setting where many creatures and monsters connected to the occasion live. The public looks up to Jack Skellington as the “Pumpkin King” and follows his lead when organising the yearly Halloween celebrations. Jack, though, is weary of the custom this year and wants something new.
He discovers six trees that are actually doors to other holiday-themed worlds while exploring the woods the next morning, and inadvertently enters the one leading to Christmas Town. In awe of the strange celebration, Jack goes back home to share his discoveries with his friends and neighbours. However, because they have no concept of Christmas, they relate everything to their conceptions of Halloween.
They do, however, have a connection with Santa Claus—or “Sandy Claws,” as Jack erroneously refers to him—the mayor of Christmas Town. Jack isolates himself in his home to research Christmas in greater detail and come up with a logical justification. Jack finally determines that Christmas should be enhanced rather than understood and declares that Halloween Town will take over Christmas this year when research and testing prove fruitless.
